Anyone hear about the recent attack on a dealer north of Pittsburgh PA? Seems they put some gas cans under a few SUV's and set them ablaze. All done in the name of the enviroment.

If only those people were not so close minded to indeed see that their "views" are indeed only harming the environment ten fold.

I'm calling on ELF to set my truck ablaze. If you need directions to my house, or need me to leave keys in the vehicle let me know:)

Just saw that shit on CNN. I guess that lighting the fuel will not make it more of a pollutant. Probably bunch of rich college kids with nothing to do, cant go to any university without some dick likcing liberal group protesting about something. I am also for the enviornment but doing this kind of nonsense is not good for anyone. Anyway let me get off of my soapbox..

Just a bunch of poseurs, I'm all for the environment but stuff like this accomplishes nothing but make the whole notion of environmentolism look like something stupid and/or criminal. On top of all this there is the whole chicken-shit factor brought on by the fact that they have to do all their "protesting" secrectly and at night then only claiming credit for it while hiding behind the cloak of this stupid ELF crap.

interesting.. i live outside of pittsburgh and haven't heard anything about it or had anyone tell me anything, and usually rover related news gets back to me.

that dealer is a jackoff.. he had it coming for more than environmental reasons. fuck, i bet he hired some kids to do it to boost sales via insurance claims.

Rob: Let me know if you can find the specifics. I spent quality time yesterday searching for that story, and the best I could come up with is this:

http://www.animalrights.net/articles/2002/000099.html

But the only similarities between that story and Al's story are the units three, a dealer, and the act of arson.
I am tracking and storing information on this issue. It is interesting.

i think the headline is just breaking. i get no indication that this was a land rover dealership, as far as i know there are none north of pittsburgh, we only have the one here.

THAT SUCKS!!!
Just to prove another already-discussed point, I was just at my local recycling station dropping off a few weeks worth of can and paper savings, and the only people there doing the same were all driving SUVs!!! No eco-friendly car drivers! HA! So there to ELF! (God I hate them!)

From the looks of the picture I saw on AOL the dealer looked like a Ford dealer but it was hard to tell from the burnt carcas of what used to be a truck. I don't think it matters if it's a LR dealer or not. It could just as easily have been one.

Well they did attack a rover dealership a while back. Threw a bunch of acid on the trucks and it ate up the paint.

Press Release: ELF TORCHES SUVS IN ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA

For Immediate Release

ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA - The Earth Liberation Front has taken credit for its first action of 2003 with the destruction of several SUVS at a Pennsylvania auto dealership. A communique, received by the ELF Press Office, Thursday, claimed an attack on SUVs at the Bob Ferrando Ford Lincoln Mercury Dealership in Erie, Pennsylvania.

The Earth Liberation Front is an international underground organization that uses direct action in the form of economic sabotage to stop the destruction of the natural environment. In North America alone since 1997, the ELF has caused over $45 million in damages to entities who profit from the destruction of life.

Communique follows:

At 5:30AM on January 1, 2003, the Earth Liberation Front attacked several SUV's at Bob Ferrando Ford Lincoln Mercury in Erie, Pennsylvania. At least four vehicles were entirely destroyed and several others sustained heavy

some other shit from another site:

PITTSBURGH (Jan. 4) - In the latest in a string of vandalism carried out in the name of the Earth Liberation Front, members of the radical environmental group are claiming responsibility for a fire at a Pennsylvania auto dealership. Jugs of gasoline were set ablaze under three vehicles, engulfing them and a nearby car in flames Wednesday at a dealership in Girard, about 110 miles north of Pittsburgh, FBI Special Agent Bob Rudge said.

Three other vehicles also had jugs of gasoline set under them but failed to ignite. "I have no reason to doubt that it's an individual who committed the acts on behalf of the Earth Liberation Front,'' Rudge said.

Vehicles like the Ford Excursion have been
previously targeted.

Earth Liberation Org~~Terrorists?
The FBI considers the Earth Liberation Front one of the nation's most prolific domestic terrorist organizations. It is thought to be responsible for the 1998 torching of a ski resort in Vail, Colo., an arson that caused $12 million in damage and is considered the most destructive act of eco-terrorism in U.S. history.

ELF is loosely organized. Anyone who carries out an action under the group's guidelines and claims responsibility as part of the organization is considered a member. Over the past year, its name has been attached to a string of vandalism in Pennsylvania. Last month, the group's Web site said ELF members and cells from the Animal Liberation Front set a Nov. 26 fire at a mink farm in Erie. The fire destroyed a barn, but no animals or people were harmed.

The group also claimed responsibility for an Aug. 11 fire at an unoccupied forest research station near Warren and the torching in March of a construction crane at a bridge work site in Erie, Rudge said.

ELF's claims
of responsibility typically come through its Web site, where managers say they serve only as a media conduit for the group. A manager who did not provide an identity said in an e-mail that the communique about Wednesday's fire came in anonymously, as do all reports of ELF attacks.

Rudge said that communique, posted on the Web site, appeared to be authentic because it included information that hadn't been made public.

Can you say, life in prison with no parole? No that would be too good for them. Irresponsible
idiots who are risking innocent lives to accomplish what? Every emergency call that a firehouse receives is a risk for them and the general public. It's total insanity, I am amazed they have never been caught, am I wrong? Have any of them been prosecuted?

So if I commit an act of vandism and say it was in the name of the Earth, not only do I get to become an ELF member my act of vandism is not a crime but a protest? How screwed up is that logic? Don't gangs like the cripts and etal. use that same method of membership "dues". Poor PA, I grew up there and now live in Utah. I'm sure glad that most people here in Ut drive suv's and carry sidearms, they can cap the asses of any stray ELFers running around "protesting"

"The Earth Liberation Front is an international underground organization that uses direct action in the form of economic sabotage to stop the destruction of the natural environment"

Ummmm...they sound like terrorists to me and should be treated as such. "Economic Sabatage" is what happened 9/11 and at this dealership. There is no difference between Osama bin Laden and any ELF members.

economic sabatage...hmmmm...that's a good one. So now there's a politically correct word for vandalism. And there seems to be a little bit of a contradiction with the phrase "stop the destruction" up there...

Well...on the Philly news last night...some stupid fucking slime pushed a huge block of ice off an overpass...through the windshield of a minivan and killed a mother and 1 or 2 kids. Every day you wake up to find more and more stupidity and ignorance in the world....
