Hi, In the last day or so while running the heat in the car, the fan (blower) would cut out momentarily for a few seconds (anywhere from 2 seconds to 8 seconds) and then come on. Just prior to the fan cutting out I faintly hear what sounds like a click (up to three clicks) of a relay behind the glove compartment box. Not sure if that has anything to do why the fan (blower) stops momentarily or not, but can't figure out why it's happening. Any ideas? Thanks! Dave |

hmm,, i think the range rover 1995 shares the same dash as the disco and in the disco this is common. stuff from the cup holders splashes into the swith and casues it to cut out sometimes... if youi change the speed of the fan next time it starts to cut out you could see if thats the problem. you might spray some contact cleaner into the switch and see if that helps. i dont know what the contact cleaner might do to your dash or whatever so test it out before you spray it all over. rd |

Hi Rob, I really appreciate the suggestion. Yes, my 95 RR LWB has the same dash as the Disco. The next time the fan cuts out I'll immediately switch to a different fan speed and see if that immediately turns the fan back on. If so, then I'll know where my problem lies. Beliee it or not the analog clock in the RR makes a periodic clicking sound so this is maybe the sound I was hearing (intead of a relay) although the clicking sound I heard just before the fan cut out seemed a bit louder. The next few days will give me a chance t see what happens. Thanks again! |

I've had this happen but it has gone away. When it happens, if you play with the switch, problem resolves itself. Contact cleaner should help though I never tried it. All I did was with the truck off, flick kinda quickly, the fan speed control from 0 to 4 back and forth a few times to clean the contact. |

Thanks Arthur, I just tried this moments ago and I'll see if that clears it up the intermitant fan problem. I hope it nothing more than dirty contacts in the fan switch. |
