Hey guys, no I did not buy a Range Rover but I had to help my bro-in-law tonight since his P38 RR will not start. He had dinner with his family at a restaurant in the mall and when they returned to their truck, both his turn signals in the rear were lit steady. He had juice from his battery as he can open and close his door locks from his remote and when you put the key in ignition, all the warning lights on the dash light. But when you attempt to crank it, all you hear is a slight 'thug'. I was talking to John C earlier tonight and the thought is that there could have been some tampering attempts and the alarm shut the ignition down.

Anyone had this happen in their RRs? The truck is now sitting in the tow truck's lot awaiting transport to LR Paramus tomorrow morning. I was just wondering if we could've fixed/reset it there instead of going through all the hassles tonight. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

This same thing happened on my wife's minivan yesterday. We were on vacation for a few weeks and something must have drained it. It was completely dead so I hooked it up to my jeep. With the jeep idling the starter would make mad clicks (not like it wanted to turn over the engine) and the hazards went on and other electrical fun, as if the alarm went off. I turned off the hazard, let it sit a bit and tried again. The battery still didn't have enough juice so the hazards came on again.
Grabbed a better pair of jumpers and reved the jeep and it finally turned over.

Thanks for the input Rob and Pete. The truck made it to the dealer this morning. Hopefully they will hear from them by tomorrow as to what really happened. They're also doing the 30K service while there. Interestingly, the parts department had a pair of Hella 3000 on sale for $455 Thanks again!

LOL... I was actually making fun of that price...hehehe. (Ho, I think we need a "sarcasm" icon of some sort). I got a brand new pair of Hella 4K's for 202.50 with the Hella harness from eBay last summer.

Ron, what's a BECM?

Well, just heard from my bro-in-law, apparently the s-t-e-a-l-e-r-s-h-i-p told him that the alarm malfunctioned, whether there was a tampering attempt or good 'ole Lucas struck again. He's picking it up today I think. Thanks for all the input!
