Has anyone ever experienced a strong gear oil smell in their cab? Just today it started smelling like someone dumped a quart of 90 wt. oil inside my truck.
Checked the diffs. Rear diff is a little wet but dripping. I have the common leak coming from between the transmission and transfer box.

I hear that, when I used to work in a transmission shop I had burnt 90 wt spilled on me several times, that sucked! And like you said, in the hair is the worst |

Have you checked the level? Maybe some oil was forced out of the axle breather, which exits under the wheel arch (I think, its been a while). |

Mine came from transporting the oil in the back and one of the bottles was not sealed correctly and leaked a bit and the smell stuck for a few days.
I use Go-Jo hand cleaner.. might work for hair removal. |
