Has anyone ever experienced a strong gear oil smell in their cab? Just today it started smelling like someone dumped a quart of 90 wt. oil inside my truck.

Checked the diffs. Rear diff is a little wet but dripping. I have the common leak coming from between the transmission and transfer box.

Thanks,
Matt

Musky,

I hear that, when I used to work in a transmission shop I had burnt 90 wt spilled on me several times, that sucked! And like you said, in the hair is the worst

Have you checked the level? Maybe some oil was forced out of the axle breather, which exits under the wheel arch (I think, its been a while).

Mine came from transporting the oil in the back and one of the bottles was not sealed correctly and leaked a bit and the smell stuck for a few days.

I use Go-Jo hand cleaner.. might work for hair removal.
