I wanted to say Serious Problem! - Back Seat Not Big Enough to... but I'm too new here for that.

I purchased a '97 Discovery this Monday. The cigarette lighter in the dash does not appear to work, but what's more my Nokia cell phone charger does not even appear to fit into the receptacle. The diameter is large enough to accept it, but (I'm remembering back 3 days now) it did not appear to have a chance of mating correctly and making electrical contact.

Anyone else have this problem? Sorry for all the suggestive phrases used in my post.

Thanks,

Tom

Excuse me, but it is a cigar lighter, look in the owner's manual.

They wouldn't want to call it a "fag lighter" now would they? :)

Tom,

I have had the same problem and you can buy a product from Radio shack that you plug in the lighter and it makes the plug more..well..snug.

AS far as the lighter not working at all did you check the fuse? Of course if it was the fuse the passenger seat controls propbably wouldn't work either.

I had problems finding the product from Radio Shack but others on this board assured me they carry it.

Good Luck

Oh great...another cell-phone toting SUV owner.
Don't you know you're supporting terrorism?

I found the easiest thing for me,was to by one of those three port cigarette lighter things from radio shack (10 bucks)and mounted it in the center cubby, hard-wired it to constant hot so if needed I can leave the phone in the car overnight to charge.

Thanks for your help guys.

BTW, I feel like a terrorist driving this glossy all-black Land Rover with a rhino kit on the front. It's right out of Mission Impossible!

And... if I drove a VW Beetle would I be a better person because I was helping terrorists a little less? :)
