My radiator decided to spring a leak today, a radiator repair place wants about $200 to repair, I found one from motorcarsltd.com for $472, cheapest I have found: http://www.motorcarsltd.com/item.wws?sku=IN102363&mfr=British&cookieID=0UU1ARUUN&clientid=motorcars&clientid=motorcars Anybody have any problems with motorcarsltd or their radiators and should I take a chance and have it repaired or just replace it, any advice is most welcome. If anybody has a lead to other vendors for radiators that would be most welcome too. Thanks, Alan |

I vote replace. Repair is only temporary, but replace will last 10 years and transfer heat much better. Plus that price for a rplacement is cheap. Make sure they actually have it in stock or that price is worthless. Randall |

I'm in San Diego and just had the radiator for my '90 RR re-cored. I pulled the radiator (less than an hour job) and took it in. They pulled the ends off and put in a new core, full thickness, four rows of larger diameter - less cloggable - tubes, for $354, including tax. They turned it around in one day. Cured the overheating. They showed me the old core and it was 75 percent encrusted with scale. No wonder the PO blew a head gasket. That's ok though, I got a "new" RR for cheap. |

Thanks all for the responses: Just talked to a another very reputable radiator repair place, been in business for over 50 years, says their recore jobs are better than new and will give me a 2-year warranty, all for $175. I was leaning towards getting a new one but just can't afford it at the moment, will probably just recore and keep my fingers crossed, I figure with a 2-year warranty I can hold out a little longer before getting a new one, knowing my luck my reocore will probably blow at the most inopportune time, like in the middle of BFE Oklahoma :-) |
