My SRS light is on. (1996 Disco) The repair shop said the rotary coupler needs replaced at a cost of $500. Is something a do-it-yourselfer can do? Can the old one be repaired?

Sorry Mike. Even if you could get and install the part, you'd still need the dealer to reset the computer. Some claim that you are not "Permitted" to do such work on air bags without being properly trained, blah, blah, blah.

I've learned to live without mine.

SRS = Stupid Rover Shit
If you don't plan on crashing the truck it shouldn't be a problem :)

What about state inspections, specifically Virginia? Both my SRS and ABS (due to disconnect) are on. Will the disco fail inspection due to this?
