Do you have a picture? Most of the mounts I've seen, including my own, is just the stock mounts.

Or this...

ICOM IC-F2020

Just without the Paragon dust. :)

Okay, so they don't make AM CB's with remote mount heads like that. But you could mount it like the picture Eric posted just by drilling into the center console on the side if you didn't want to go into the tunnel. The console should be able to support the weight but you could also add some flat stock on the back for extra support and it would be more stealthy.

put it on the back of your console ala here
It's out of the way, out of sight, handy to operate and several power options available under the consol.

What power source did you tap into Jerry?

I'm told by people who have had their console apart there are a number of hot points available. I ran the radio power plug to the cigar lighter outlet. This was a temporary fix (two years ago) just before a road trip & I've never bothered to remedy it. I don't recommend it because I get a lot of static and engine noist through that source. My plan is to wire in another power block for lights and tap the radio into that. But, I have enought "plans" to keep me busy into the afterlife so I'm not suire when I'll get around to it???. If you do tap off the wires in the console be sure you don't tap into any of the SRS wires. I think they have a loom to indicate what those wires are for but thought I would mention it just in case.

Jess,
Eric and Craig are right, that's my CB bracket. I still have a few left, including one to fit your D1. E-mail me directly if you are still interested.
Thanks to Eric and Craig for remembering,
Chris

I've got the Cobra 75. Transmitter box is only about 2"x3"x2" and mounts nicely in the glove box without taking up much space. The mic. on this radio has everything else built in and mounts right to the front of the change drawer. Radio works great for me, it's only 100 bucks and it's super compact!

Here's another way to do the Cobra 75. I like mine alot. Wired it into the fuse box under the kick panel for constant power. Just gotta be careful not to leave it on.
It is pretty out of the way when not in use, and you dont even really notice the radio box from inside the truck unless youre looking for it.
