I was driving home last night going about 70mph and all of the sudden it would feel like I wasnt accelerating. It would then kick in and resume at normal speed. These lapse in power would last only a few seconds. It felt like I was taking my foot off the accelerator, yet my foot wasnt moving. It did this continually for about 20 minutes. Then it stopped. Any ideas? My Check engine light went on about 2 hours prior to that. I thought it was just a fuel issue.. Any ideas? Ive read the posts and people have suggested it to be a Speed Sensor problem. But who knows. I have a 97 D1. |

It is the VSS. sotry for you. I took my new disco back to the dealership to complain about this problem. They could not figure it out at all. I then came here and asked. the response was quick and everyone said VSS. I took it back told the dealership to check that. they did and changed the VSS and voila, no more "hesitation" while driving at highway speed. ONE for the Discoweb, strike for the dealership. Just in case you live in Calgary.... |

There actually was a service info on speed sensor failures. They would cause misfire on the left bank. The sensor would indicate a too high speed signal and the ecm would cut the fuel back on bank A. Jim |
