I have a 94 disco that has a smoke coming out from the gear shift, could be needing some oil in the gear box?

uh... you mean coming out of the center console into the cabin?? Bad, very bad... unless your neighbor is missing a cat - in that case keep driving.

Unless you dropped your Camel while driving, smoke inside is not a good thing... Yikes!!

Although, if it was a VW it would be completely normal.

Check the driveshaft and other leaks, the smoke starterd after twenty minutes of freeway driving and disappear after twenty to thirty minutes. I have a leaking windshield that probably runs down the shaft or other hotspot and causes some smoke. I noticed that the smoke was actually coming from the right bottom console of the front passenger side on the left ankle on actual sitting.

Don't know about that, but if I were flying I would shut down the avionics/electric/battery switch, open the windows and find a place to land. In the mean time, if there was no immeadiate place to land I would turn the battery back on, and trouble shoot with individual breakers and power to individual avionics. Of course this all depends on if it were an electrical or mechanical fire. If it is mechanical, in a plane, your in real trouble. But even in a car, an electrical fire can cause you to go unconscious if you breath that stuff too long!
