I am in the process of ppurchasing a transfer case from a guy in california. I have told him everything that needs to be included with this swap and he said that the parking brake drum, the shifter linkage, and the chassis mounts are all needed. But i want to make sure that the shifter linkage is there and i need to know what to tell him. Is the shifter linkage suppose to bolt to the transfer case or is it bolted to the body under the center console of the truck? I have heard that alot of guys are buying transfer cases without the shifter linkage on it. How does this happen, do people take the shifter linkage off the transfer case and then sell it or is it still attached to the body of the truck? I just need to know what to explain to him. I sent him some pictures off pirate 4x4 bulletin board showing every different piece. But im not sure we are clear on the shifter linkage. He has told me that the rubber boot is not on it. Which i can understand because it isnt attached to anything but i sent him a picture where the shifter linkage was seperated from the t-case. So if anyone can let me know how this shifter linkage works on the truck and what i should tell him to look for(is it bolted to the t-case or not) but regardless i still want to do the swap i just need to make sure i get what i can. Thanks for the info, Ryan Wilcox [email protected] |

The linkages are bolted to the gear box. The final conection is a plate lever to the diflock selector and a rod link to the ratio selector. regards Michael. |
