hi guy,
I,ve a M.Y. 2003 disco without CDL (in italy is an optional).
I,ve read in this forum:
"The 2003 Disco2 will not use a lever to activate the linkage, however. It will use a solenoid housed in the transfer case shifter assembly that will be activated by the transfer case shift lever in a fashion similar to the Disco 1"

Someone can suggest me better way to have it on my car?
And , which original parts i need to have CDL?

Thank you and best regards from Rome.

Lory, since we here in the US have been denied the proper transfer case that can have the CDL activated, your responses here will be very limited. None of the US '03's have the CDL stud, so until we see what is actually being supplied, we can't comment. Does your transfer case have the CDL stub on top of it? If so, there are several options available to you.

I think this is going to be up to the non-USA owners to figure out - then they can educate us poor unfortunates in the USA.

I am certainly interested in the subject. I am posponing my purchase of a new Disco in the hope that we might get CDL as an option here in the States ;(

Just to make all you USA DII owners with no CDL even more mad - I just saw a new electrical actuator that you can buy for a push button CDL made specifically for Rovers - of course, you have to have one of the TC's that have the ability to have a CDL lever attached, and from what I understand you can't even get those type anymore!!

I have a 99 DII and installed the solenoid accuator kit from Great Basin Rovers. It has a dash mounted toggle switch. Of course my transfercase had the stud. Lory to that option someone has faricated a CDL lever that attaches and you reach under your truck to engage and disengage the CDL. Maybe someone has the link handy. Good Luck!

It's been a while BW but that doesn't look like it. At first glance I thought that was the cable for the gear selector.

One is the cable, the other is the vent. The CDL stud is a little more to the front

Al,

I found the right place. What screwed me up was a maintenance manual drawing that had an arrow in the spot I took the picture. Weird.

Keep going, it is actually on the front output cone right behind the frt driveshaft flange. Even if you vehicle has been cast over it will have a circle on top where the hole should be.

Hi,
I,ve checked and i've not CDL stud :-(

C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\foto disco

If Rover deleted the external lever ( to activate the CDL) even in Italy (where CDL is an Optional)maybe is true that 2003 disco have a new CDL activation system.
Maybe someone know something about this probable new system

I,m looking for Owners of Italian MY2003 with Rover factory CDL, i hope that in this way we can understand the problem.

Ciao
And sorry for my english ;-)
