Well, after a lot of thought and consideration, I've decided to abandon my Michelin XL project.

The primary purpose of my DII is to take the family on trips and get me to and from work each day. The off road part is secondary. Recently, I've gotten a little carried away and had reversed those roles.

Well, it's just not realistic to try and make them fit and then expect it to be reliable for it's practicle purpose.

I still plan on having a set of dedicated, aggressive trail tires, they just won't be three feet tall! Sometimes, reality sucks.

Gerg,

You have it backwards. There is no practicle purpose for a Land Rover. Just say no to common sence. You must continue the project because next time you go wheeling and you get hung up on something it will drive you nuts. Besides, I am sure that with enough pondering you will be able to find a way to justify your project. So far I have been able to find a way to make all my mods make sence, to me at leaste. (my wife has not figured it all out yet though)

But then again....this is a very stupid hobby. I don't know why anyone would do what we do, why go over the rock when we can go around?

So who or how much you selling them for?

Brian is right!
I spent the weekend wiring rock lights under mine. I convinced my wife that they would be good when we are driving at night out in the country where there are no lights and need to make a turn or something.

She doesn't even bother asking any more.

Eric, a friend of mine has one that he's test-fitting on his D-90. If he doesn't take them, you interested? I'm asking what I paid. Six tires for $500.

Now that I think about it Greg.. They are a little thin for my taste. I would want at least a 10.5 or wider tire. 12.5 would be best. $500.00 is a good deal though. Let me know if your friend doesn't want them. I may find you some one that does or hell, I might want them after all.

What's sad is I was bummed for having to "settle" for my 285's. It's funny how skewed your logic gets when fixing these things up.
