I was wondering if anybody has tried them? I so, how well do they work? And what is the size of a 1995 Disco? Thanks Tim

I just ordered a Motive Power Bleeder that pressurizes the brake system from the top to bleed it.

Looks like the Russell brake bleeders are one way valves that replace the regular bleeder valve. A possible disadvantage with this method is that you will be working the brake master cylinder piston through its full mechanical range of motion, which can break free a lot of crud. Other than that, if you can get them in the right size, they should work fine.

The Russells work well according to those I spoke to that track their cars. However, they need to be replaced somewhat often as the sealing mechanism is subject to fail after a while.

The Motive can fail at the point where the clear hose attaches to the body of the bleeder bottle. The metal clip doesn't always clamp tightly, and the plastic nipple is prone to cracking. I like using a Mityvac or the old tubing and glass jar.

Motive - fail?!

If the hose kinks at the bottle after a year or two of use - who cares? cut off 1" and reclamp

LOL

I'm with you Bill,

I've had my motive bleeder for about 3 years or more now and it's been terrific.
