Yay,
Just got my 245/75-16 Dunlop RT's mounted to my 94' Disco. I did some similar trimming to the second set of pics in the Fender Trimming section of the Tech Section but I didn't go up as high. I used a high speed Pneumatic Reciprocating saw (very small Pneumatic SawZall that is very high speed with a short stroke) and it worked like a charm. Then flat filed it to make it level and painted the edges.
Got as Cross axled as I could on the way home and no rubbing. I was only at about 90% Articulation but I can see from the Arc of the tire I should be fine off Road even totally Cross Axled. Cant wait to try them in the slick stuff.
ON road they are very smooth. FOr a Load E tire I expeced a rougher ride, very smooth and Quiet. They are not as good in cornering as the Factory Michlins but still fine. (THose big Tread lugs like to roll over) I am running 35psi in front and 38psi in the rear. Anyone with RT's have good Tire Pressure Recomendations. With 32psi in front they were to soft. I'm thinking of trying a higher pressure to see if that helps the front end wash out at all.

I run RT's on my old Trooper and am very happy with them. They have been awesome in the foot upon foot uopon foot of snow we've had since Christmas.

It's what I'll put on my Disco when I get one.

Go higher,

Although I dont agree with Kyles old practice of 65 psi, I do think you would have more responsive handling with higher pressures. The 245/75-16 RTs are not as "sensitive" (i.e. increasingly harsh) to pressure increases as the OEM Michelins.

Regardless of pressure, I find 6 to 10 psi difference between front and rear to be ideal.
If I am on-road, I'll run between 38f/48r and 52f/60r, depending on load and what I have on the roof rack, like 5 bales of hay, or 12 bales of shavings, or 4 kids and 3 kayaks (only on low-range, off highway river shuttles).

I seldom "air-down for off-roading, unless it requires pure rock crawling or deep sand.

i have the 235/85's at 40 front 50 rear. Feel pretty good for me. Definitely try and keep them about 10psi difference between front and rear.

THanks for the tips guys. I appreciate it. I will up the pressure in them and try 40f/50r and see how I like that.
Cant wait to get these in some snow.
THanks
Todd
