Phillip- One or two more mudholes....then I'll wash it......maybe. Sherrod- The header\cats\flowmaster made a big differance on my 3.9. I drive a on a lot of highways that have long steep grades (rt280, rt17, rt80 and rt287) every day. I can now pass other cars going uphill. Power increase is most noticable from 2500 to 4000rpm's. My 91RRC has 3"RTE and 245/75 Futura MT's, ARB bumber/8K winch and roofrack. I got the headers from RPI(Janspeed). Adrian |

Adrian I have the complete NWR downpipes and cat back system, and it too makes a big difference is passing ability. Also reprogrammed engine which is most effective in the 2500 to 4000 rpm range. Did you have to replace the cat back system as well or did you just do the front. Also it looks like you have lost some ground clearance. The NWR system actually gives you a little more ground clearance. What does it sound like? I get bitched at already about the exhaust noise. I am not picking on you, I am very interested in this. And I think that it is great that you have posted the pictures of your work. Randall |

Randall I used the stock y-pipe(modified) and replaced the muffler with a flowmaster. While I was at it I had them replace the tail pipe too but I could have left the stock cat-back section. The exhaust still hangs down about the same (right under the cross member), maybe 1/2" lower if that. I was thinking about removing the cross member and then tucking the exhaust up higher then fabricating a new cross member but I needed my truck for work. I am going to have the guy but in a flange between the header and cross member one of these days. That will make removing the y-pipe a lot easier. The exhaust sounds great. It's definitely louder than a sewing machine but it's not obnoxious. My wife did ask me if it was supposed to sound that way? I said "of course it is" and she said "as long as your happy with it" and just shook her head. Where did you get the ECU re-programmed? That's one of the next things I plan on doing. Reprogram chips: [email protected] Where are you located. I would like to examine the exhaust system. Highly unlikely that you are nearby, but I am in NC. |

Adrian, Did you install the two or three chamber Flowmaster? How about the p/n? |

Ali I think it was the 2 chamber. Summit Racing said they didn't carry the 3 chamber any more. I'll get the part # tonight. Adrian |

I had the 2 chamber in my 5.0 and it was nice and loud. Wonder how it sounds on the Rangie! |
