The glass is cracked on my passenger side rear view. I found it dangling by some wires and popped it back in. Now I have the replacement glass, but cannot get the cracked one out. Do I have to park the vehicle at Safeway and wait for a Suburban to hit it again?

Service repair no - 76.11.10
Replacing the mirror glass
1. Press the outer end of the glass inwards to its
full extent.
2. Insert the fingers under the inner end of the
glass and pull outwards until the glass is
released from its two retaining clips.
3. Disconnect the two demister leads attached to
the back of the glass unit.
4. To replace the glass, locate the inner end of the
glass in the retaining clip of the housing first.
5. Carefully press the outer end of the glass
inwards until it securely locates in the front
retaining clip.
6. Reset the fine adjustment as required.
Complete assembly
