CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON 47,OOO ON MY 2000 DISCO II, DEALER SAYS FROM NOT USING PREMIUM GAS THEY HAVE TO PULL THE HEADS AND CLEAN THE VALVES. HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THIS.. SOUNDS A BIT ODD TO ME!! |

DON'T YELL, Yes, common problem on Land Rovers. Sounds like your most likely under warranty. Have it done and let Land Rover pay. It's also nice to get new head gaskets. Also, another common problem. Make sure you use premium. -John |

Weren't they using the new valves with the carbon break by 2000? If so, surprised that this is a problem. It should already have the new style head gaskets too? |

I had it on my 1999 D2 and I've used 91-93 octane since day one. |

Common problem no matter what fuel is used. The new valves and valve guides are about 7 months old and may actually work. This is the most promising update yet to the valves (the 4th one). The japanese have used the black nitrate valves for years. |
