Time for an oil change on the 96 Disco (my first time).

Quick questions on the lube:

are they standard fittings? (I need to buy a lube gun)

grease recommendations?

And how many fittings should I be looking for?

I want to be sure I get all the proper places.

thanks,

jeff

Hey Jeff, the grease (zerk fittings, sometimes called) are standard, I use 80w90 gear lube in my swivel ball housings, I guess any good quality grease will work, I bought a 96 disco a couple of months ago and have used this site and some others for help and it has been great. My so called greased for life seals ( tie rods, etc. ) where all dried up and cracked. I went to the local feed store and bought a syringe and needle, a good size one, packed it full of grease and stuck it into the seal, squirted it in the seal and only a small amount came out when the needle was retracted, it has worked great so far.

Every time you change your oil, you support terrorism.
