I just bougth a 98 Disco and was just wondering which grade of gas should I use? |

They say Super. However, by law, a gas station has to "meet or exceed" the listed octane rating. So, you need 91. They only sell 87, 89, 93. The catch is that so they don't get shut-down by constant "plain-clothes" tests (not just for octane, but MTBE and other things) - they usually exceed the listed rating by 1-3 points. so 87=89, 89=91, 93=96, etc. I buy "plus" or mid-grade with no knocks. 125K miles on truck. I bought cheap a few times when the other grade(s) were gone or no other grades were offered. -JA |

i only use 87 and it runs fine....i dont think it makes a difference on the engine we have |
