On a Disco I with Full length wooden "Skateboard" installed on center console, does the Console have to be removed to get to the underside of it in order to get at and replace the heated seat switches?

Yes and no.

Yes because you have to remove the shifter knob, shifter cover assembly and the transfer knob, parking brake boots to free up the "skateboard."

No because you do not need to remove the actual console, but all of the PITA work needed to remove the console has already been done as I described above.
