Hi there I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the difference between V8 and a V8i is. I recently got a Disco 3.9 V8i. I live in Switzerland and haven't seen another V8i, just plain V8's. However, I've just come back from vacation in New Zealand where V8i's seem to be the Disco of choice. Any takers? cheers Z. |

Fuel injection helps with things like drive in the mountains, were the air is thinner. There is not much differance as far as performance, with the fuel injection vs. carb. What year is your Discovery? Is it the high compression version of the 3.9? |

Hi Ron Thanks. Good to know about driving in the mountains as I will be taking it to the French alps in spring. My Disco's 97. No idea about the high compression though. At the risk of sounding like a fool: "how can I check?" |
