Hey DWebbers, I remember reading a post recently where someone implied that some of the early DI's already have the heated seat elements installed, and all that is left to do is install the switches. Can anyone shed some more light on this? I have a 94 DI and 95 DI, and both have leather seats. How can I tell if I have these elements installed? What would indicate that they are in there?? My ass is freezing! Chuckster |

i'm not 100%, but first they need to be electric seats. If you have that, then i think there should be some type of plug/wire sticking out from under your seat that would indicate the elements are in there. someone else should be able to shed some more light on this as there were quite a few posts long ago about this. |

Chuck, What I did was remove the press fit cover over the centre consol housing the window switches and then unscrew the plastic plate in which the switches are mounted. Behind this plate I found two harnesses lying there which needed switches plugged in to complete them. These turned out to be the heated seat switch harnesses. I borrowed a heated seat switch from a friends car to test and all worked. Got 2 switches and a new cover plate with the heated seat switch cutouts from LR and no more cold rear end. Ignition must be on and there is an indicator light in the switch to show if they are on. www.worst4x4.freeservers.com |
