I posted about this before but as i sit around thinking I thought about it again. I was thinking.....oooppsss...I mean a friend of mine asked me what would happen if he turned his wheels inside out for a wider stance and better turning?

I think there is the issue of counter sinking for the lugs but is there any other reason you couln't do it besides it looking uglyer than the Pontiac Aztec?

my friend eagerly awaits your informed responses.

Aside from looking urban (good way to put it Bob) you'd probably have clearance issues. Wheel travel and articulation are tremendous in these vehicles, which is one reason for their off-road-ability. If you got onto lumpy ground you'd be bouncing your wheels off the lip of your wheel wells, cutting up the rubber and trashing the vehicle body.
That, and it would look pretty urban.

Stop wheeling with him? I would never claim him as a friend or an acquaintance. If you wanted to do an offset that bad, they make generic one size fits all wheel spacers you can try. Or maybe your "friend" is going for the ghetto look, with 12" wheels that stick out 15", hmm now that is a possibility. If your "friend" goes that route then maybe some hydraulics are in order as well.

You should see "my friends" gallery...he doesn't seem to care about how it looks.

Although, the hydrolic idea is kinda phat.

And where do you get the generic spacers?

usually race shops will carry them. They are pretty common for weekend racers and autocrossers looking to get a bit wider stance. Sometimes local auto parts stores will have them.

Well,

It seems like a logical and extreemely inxpensive way to acheive off set rims. 1$ to anyone willing to try it.

now why in the fuck would you want to do that? Maybe you can also remove your doors and mount them inside out on the other side of the truck....but why?

You know what would be real good if it's possible, move the hinges of the rear cargo door to the driver's side so it opens the 'right way'. I hate loading stuff from a curb and have to go around the fucking door

I'm okay now ....whew!

Blue...for a wider stance of course and better turning radius with 265/75. Come on man, think out of the box. I might be on to something here and if I am i might be able to sell them on e-bay as real off set rims. I could be as industrious as the guys that were selling the interior roll cages made of pvc pipe.
