On my dad's D2 often when you crank it up the RPM's go up to 2500, then down to 1100 and back up. It does this endlessly. Once it's put in gear the RPM's go back to normal and the vehicle drives fine. Any idea what the problem is? The vehicle is an '01 D2 with 34,000 on it. Thanks, Will |

Is your A/C button on? The RPM will cycle when it is, or when other electrical items are on, to help compensate. I wouldn't worry, it's probably fine.... -L |

Sounds normal, How many revs does the tach show after the temp guage is is dead in the middle (after about 10 minutes)? Cheers, Kennith |

In other words...the engine is "surging"? |

...if so, no it is not normal. It should not do it in any gear or at any temperature....could be a vacuum leak. Has any work been done under the hood prior to the problem or possibly a car wash disconnecting a hose? |
