This morning I warmed up my 98 D1 for about 15 minutes. When I left for work I noticed a bunch of accessories did not have power: heater, heated seats, radio, fog lights, garadge door opener, etc. I shut off the truck to check fuses. I did not get to check all of the fuses, but most of these accessories run on different fuses anyway, so I'm not sure what happened. When I tried to start the truck again the starter sounded like it was spinning, but would not engage. The battery is two weeks old and started the truck just fine early this moring. Anyone have a suggestion of what to check for?

Have you had any other work done to the truck lately?

Check the voltage on the battery. It should read about 12 to 12.5 volts with the Disco off and 13.4 or so with the Disco running.

Thanks,
Mike B.

Battery voltage reads 12.49 when turned off. Since it won't start I don't know what it is while turned on. I recently replaced the power steering box, reshimmed the swivel pins, replaced the steering dampener and changed the oil and filter. The window ECU was also removed a few weeks ago and I am waiting on a replacement.

When I started it this morning the engine ran and the headlights worked, but that was it. Everything else was powerless as if it was only giving power to required functions. Is there some reason the Disco would do this?

Paul,

Could you or someone else possibly routed the serpentine belt incorrectly?
