Hello....I am not sure if my alternator is dying or voltage regultor is bad...My engine was hard on starting and lights were dim....The voltage showed 11.5 volts across the battery with engine stopped or running....I started the engine and slowly disconnected the positive lead and the engine died....I expected the engine to run if the alternator was good. (is it different in landys?) Anyway I changed the battery and the autozone guy mentioned with new battery only 18 amps were generated at 2500 rpm or so.... Any hints on what might be wrong ?? Thx.... |

Unfortunately, the voltage regulator is part of the alternator on these, so if one goes, you have to replace the whole thing. Whatever you do DO NOT BUY A REBUILD!!! I went through 4 in a month and 1 caught on fire |
