Ok, car got moved out of the garage. went to put it back in and it now wont lock or unlock remotely or start at all. Battery has power, accessories work but when you use the key to unlock it (as the remote wont anymore) it wont start and the hazrds flash continuously. Help!! Its just sat there like a stale bottle of piss! Any help would be great, if I dont shift my dad will probably burn it (at least he would if it wasnt so close to the house!!) |

you tripped the inertia switch. Its designed to initiate when the car thinks its in an accident. Stop the vehicle and turn the starter switch off and on again. The central door locking will be inhibited for 5 minutes. The button is in the engine bay, its a big rubber button I think near the firewall. Push it and it should be ok. |

Thanks Jim! When you starter, do you mean the ignition? Press the button after the 5 mins or during? |

Pete, I'm just curious, but, how do you know when a bottle of piss has gone stale? |

Sorry about the confusion. I was just looking at the manual, since its never happened to me before. I'm just assuming that with the hazards flashing, and the car not starting, that somehow the intertia sensor got tripped. Try with the vehicle off first, and then pressing the switch. If you have a D1 and the owner's manual, you can check it out on page 72. Its not a lot of info though. Let us know if it works. |

mmmm...nope. Tried the above with a number of different variations with no luck. Its a D1, '94 V8. Maybe the immobiliser has just lunched itself. Dont tell me that has its own ECU aswell?! Should I check for a fault code? Does a '94 even have a display? I would check for this stuff myself but Im 1200kms from the car. Probably lucky for the car.... Todd, its important here to not be *too* literal. In Oz, "piss" is a common term for beer or most any alcoholic drink but especially beer. Now if beer has gone flat/warm or been ashed in (ie someone puts there cigarette butt in it) its then deemed to have gone stale. This will result in noone wanting to drink it and ends in the bottle of stale piss just sitting there. Hence when something or someone is just sat there, useless and doing fuck all (like my disco) its deemed to be "sitting around like a stale bottle of piss". Here endeth todays Cultural Awareness lesson. Tomorrow, english ales: are they really that bad and will you actually get served with any if you say to the publican "A pint 'o warm bats piss please guv". |

when you unlock it with the key, does the blinking alarm on the guage dash go away, or is it still blinking when you try to start it? |
