I am looking to add lift springs to my 98 DI and was considering the new springs just listed on NorthWestParts.COM They are listed under suspension and called Green Benders. These are only $200 for the full set.
These guys also sell OME suspensions at a good price. The reason I'm thinking about the Green Benders is that they will make them in any lenght for any Rover. According to Expedition Exchange the OME spring will only net 1-1.5 inches of lift. Having a full two inches or slightly more would be nice.
In general how high can you go on a DI without vibes. I have a 98 DI and it has a u-goint shaft not the roto-flex. That should help right?
By the way, NorthWestParts.COM also has the lowest price on ARB bumpers I have ever seen. You have to e-mail them about it cause its to low to list one the web. And for all us guys living in the Oregon/ Washington area you can avoid shipping charges by driving to Seatle and picking it up from ARB.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks,
Dan.

NW Parts looks like a pretty good set of springs, just judging by the pics. They look pretty beefy. Does anyone know their address, I would be there today if I knew where to go!

I have heard that 2" is about as high as you can go without vibs and without getting extended brake lines etc...

Right! I have heard about the 2 inch limit. My question is by 2 inch max does that mean an OME heavy duty setup that is really only 1-1.5 inches of can I actually get a full 2 inches. Is this still a problem on trucks with u-joint shaffs?

The man you want to talk to about the springs is Andy Nix. Shoot hit an e-mail at the address on the NW Parts site and he'll get back to you right away.

Well FWIW I know you can get OME springs that will do more than 2 inches of lift so you should be able to find some that will give you a full 2 inches but that might not be the case.

You should also look in to John's springs at www.rovertym.com $300 for 4 of them, I got exactly 2 inches of lift, its been over half a year and no sagging yet (fingers still crossed though :)). Oh they perform great, probablly the best mod on my truck as far as doing what they are supposed to do.

Oh I am interested in hearing an unbiased review of these new springs though, Andy is a nice guy who seems to have very good intentions.

Now why are the "Green Benders" red????:)

We just put the 3" lift on the disco you see on the website. No noticeable vibes and that guy is really picky. If you're local, Driveline mods can be made very inexpensively should you want to go even taller.

Please email me, I don't like to use discoweb as my pimp.

Carter, did you get any vibes. What year is your truck? Do you have a roto-flex or u-joint?

How have I missed this place? I live in Portland, and I talk to a lot of people on this site, and search the web all the time, never seen it!

Andy, I think I've talked to you before, but didn't know you did anything "professionally" with Rovers.

Wouldn't the nice people at Discoweb put a link to your site in their Resources page if you asked?

I'll put one on my site now that I know you guys are there and LOCAL!

Daniel, 98 DI w/ u-joints and 62K miles no vibes at all.

Andy, I was just messin w/ you about the color thing. You should advertise on your site that you can get them in different colors, thats pretty cool. Think I can get some purple ones w/ gold sparkles???:)

FWIW I just did a lift with OME HD's from EE on a DII with a SG bumper and got just over 3" (3 1/4") no vibes at all.

Hey, I'm the guy with the silver disco on northwestparts.com. My new springs have been on my truck for about 2 weeks, and the ride is excellent. They are heavy duty, so they aren't quite as smooth as a medium duty spring, but are not harsh riding like other heavy duty springs. They are very responsive, and do not throw you around like other heavy duty springs. On my truck before were medium duty OME's, the ride was good but if my sway bar was disconected I noticed the truck would handle very loose. With the new heavy duties there is not much difference with or without the sway bars, and there is still optimum travel.

Jason, do they offer any lift hieght with an option of HD or MD?

The truck looks sweet - Rovers are one of the few trucks you can lift more than 2" and not look white trash.

Just don't pull up next to me at a stop light, it will make my vehicle look wimpy.

From the pick, it doesn't look like you got 3 inches of lift. Then again, I'm used to seeing RTE springs that give you 3+ so that when fully loaded it = 3 inch lift. Do the Green Springs give 3 inch lift after Bull bar/winch/sliders/roof rack (loaded))/hi-lift? Just curious but very interested.

"Rovers are one of the few trucks you can lift more than 2" and not look white trash."

That becuase they come from the factory looking like low riders.

Any chance you could get a measurement from the center of the wheel to the fender lip. It looks like less than three inches to me also.

I measured from the center of the wheel to the fender lip before lifting, and they were:

(this is a stock measurement)
Driver Side Front: 17 1/2
Pass. Side Front: 16 1/2 (needed new springs)
Driver Rear: 18 3/8
Pass. Rear 18 1/8

After the green springs:
Driver Front: 21
Passenger Front: 21
Driver Rear: 21.5
Pass Rear: 21.5

My stock springs were probably sagging, which is probably why I got more than a 3" lift in the front. I'm having some different springs made for the rear, as I don't want the truck totally level. I ordered some new rear springs, which will add another 1" to the current look, so then the rears will read 22.5" when I'm all done. I haul alot of crap, and forgot to order the rears a little taller. I'll post pics after it's done, but it's going to be a week or so. We're moving on saturday.

If you want more than a 3", just have them make a 4" lift for you, it doesn't cost any more...

The worm that hit the world yesterday infected my website provider. We're working through the issues to get the site back up. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I just ordered the 3" green benders (and new shocks) for my 95 Disco. I will post pics, stats and my opinion after I get them installed. If they perform as well as Andy et al did on customer service, I can't wait to get them on my ride!
