FYI

Grainger has the safarigard style swivel D-rings. They call them Heavy Duty Hoist Rings. I called safarigard and inquired about theirs and was told they are rated at 5,000 lbs working load with a shear of 50,000 lbs. Safarigard charges $125.00 each. Grainger has them for around $60.00 each.

www.grainger.com and search for "hoist rings".

They carry them with some pretty stout ratings.

Took a look. They have about 20 different options. Do you know which ones will fit on a SH rear bumper? How haed is the installation? Any help would be great.

Matt, I only see one rated at 5000 lbs. I think the install is pretty simple, drill a hole in bumper, put nut thru hole and tighten bolt. Am I right Greg?

The stock bumpers are too thin to support a D Ring. It will pull right through. To make matters worse, the bumper mounts are too weak too.

Thanks,
Mike B.

Right, but Matt indicated that he has a SH bumper. BTW, who makes the SH bumper?

grainger is really over priced on things in general so I'd think you could find something cheaper elsewear.

but if you are going to get them find out what kinda rating it is.

most lifting aperatus has what is called a "overhead" rating and that I believe is 10x true failure point.

Well, guys, I'm not endorsing the Grainger product, I was just letting you know that they had them. I have seen many times people asking about where they could get them and I just happened upon them on the Grainger site, so I thought I would share.

I have no clue about their ratings, whether they are over head, or what. I would tend to believe what Muskyman is saying because SG said theirs were rated at 5k with a shear point of 50k.

Anyway, you'll have to do your own homework on these, I just thought I would share the find.
