Are you unlocking it using the remote? If so, try manually locking it (pushing it down) and then manually unlocking it (lifting up). I spent an entire day trying to resolve my door problems and finally gave up. After I put the door skin and accessories back on, everything worked perfectly! Damn Lucas! I suspect its a tempermental actuator... Try it, and good luck! Chuckster |

Try Holding the lock up as you pull on the handle, at least that's what my wife has to do when she rides with me. If that works, then I'll go in to the speech about what I think I've found the problem to be. Mike Cox 95' Disco |

Chris, the pass door on my 95 D1 has given me trouble in the past. You can get the door open with a wire hanger. Bend it straight w/a hook @ end. Put the window down,Remove the black window gasket thing between inner door and window (long thing that keeps water and dirt out of inner door) it pops up. If you look in and work the pull you will see what needs to be moved to open the door. Look on the good side if needed. Once open the inner door panel comes off after the armrest and speaker. Be careful popping it out. The red things are cheap to replace, and the foam shit glues back on if needed. Put the window back up to work inside. Good luck, I remember a mirror on a stick was very handy in adjusting my pulls. Rick |

Did the manual lock and unlock....its determined to be difficult but that worked.....at least temporarily...I do suspect that the cold weather is taking its toll on the weaker parts of any manmade thing right now..... |

Hey Mike, I had a similar problem that was solved by holding the door lock up while opening the door. You said you would go into the speech about why that is. Let me try. Is it because some play has worked itself into the door lock actuator? By loosening the four mounting bolts you can slide the actuator toward the jam, thus loosening it even more, or toward the speaker, thus tightening up that extra play in the actuator? Is this where you were going with that? I only ask because I'm pretty sure that was my problem, but want to make sure I haven't overlooked something. Thanks, Kit |

i had a customers 95 d1 in the shop for assorted repairs.one complaint;doors wont always open.the doors seemed to open after 3 or more attempts.after getting the doors open,i applied a liberal amount of lube oil.they now work like new.worth a try. |

mine are doing the same thing. I get locked in andd often cant open the door unless I put the key in. I think it has to do with the lock actuator. I adjusted it once before but I probably did it too far. what a pain. I feel like a retard climbing in and out of the passenger door. lol |
