Ha anyone experienced a bad crank sensor? Other than a bad one causing your D1 not to start, what else can it cause? I understand that it works with the ECU which in turn works with the coil pack. Any experiences or thoughts.

My D1 is still sputtering under load and I am out of options. Not fuel delivery, not exhaust.

Did you check for valve stick, VERY common problem in the LR. Valve stick normally shows up under load when more heat is generated in the cylinder head.

Valve stick or VSS, you getting codes?

I get Misfire codes, which I know can indicate valve problems. However, with carbed up valves I thought you usually would have smokey exhaust. My exhaust is smoke free.

Do you simply remove the valve cover to check for sticky valves? I haven't even considered VSS since it happens at low speeds....30 MPH. I thought VSS problems occurred at HWY speeds. Right??

my latest vss problem was at all speeds under light cruise mostly . such as decelerating before braking into a corner.

under hard acceleration it would go away.

Mine will almost die under hard acceleration.
