97 Disco 104,000 miles

When making sharp lefthand turns my truck makes a slight grinding noise. Also, when idling, if i turn the wheel in either direction it makes a weird noise- almost sounds like a motor running. The second problem may be unrelated to the first.
Any thoughts??

Thanks in advance

Meridian does sell rebuilt steering boxes that are good quality but if it's your pump they no longer sell rebuilt pumps-too many probs. They only sell NEW pumps now. They quoted me $300 for new pump. If you shop around you can find less expensive.
