I know this is jumping to a totally different subject, but where do you guys go 4 wheeling in NJ? I just got a 98 Disco and am dying to take it out. E-mail me if you have any good places. Thanks. Oh by the way I might as well add something to the subject. I thought you weren't supposed to use Mobil1 in older cars. I have be using it in my Miata since day one. But I was told you should never switch. |

5W30 sounds a little thin, especially if it is synthetic. Maybe for a really tight new engine? |

yepI'm with you Pugsly...30w made mine knock bad. plus these are dirty motors by nature the cleaning power of synthetic is well worth it |

On mine (never had heads apart 80k PO did the 7500 thing) I use 5-50 or 15-50 synthethic. On alyssa's (spotless inside tight valvetrain frequent oil changes 86k) I use 5-30 synthethic. If it is hosed I would use 20-50 regular. On mine I changed the oil filter twice and oil once in the 4k I have had it and with the synthethic the filter has been loaded with crap both times. Ron |
