I know this is jumping to a totally different subject, but where do you guys go 4 wheeling in NJ? I just got a 98 Disco and am dying to take it out. E-mail me if you have any good places. Thanks. Oh by the way I might as well add something to the subject. I thought you weren't supposed to use Mobil1 in older cars. I have be using it in my Miata since day one. But I was told you should never switch.

5W30 sounds a little thin, especially if it is synthetic. Maybe for a really tight new engine?

yepI'm with you Pugsly...30w made mine knock bad. plus these are dirty motors by nature the cleaning power of synthetic is well worth it

On mine (never had heads apart 80k PO did the 7500 thing) I use 5-50 or 15-50 synthethic. On alyssa's (spotless inside tight valvetrain frequent oil changes 86k) I use 5-30 synthethic.

If it is hosed I would use 20-50 regular. On mine I changed the oil filter twice and oil once in the 4k I have had it and with the synthethic the filter has been loaded with crap both times.
