Yeah, spend a couple hundred more and get used HDTV front projector off eBay :-)

Sorry, maybe that wasn't the sort of suggestion you were looking for...

I have a sony HDTV monitor, 32 inch. Its a great TV and the quality is amazing. When I'm playing DVD's you, can't get a better image. I looked at all the different TVs and found the HDTV tube style to be the best, for all around viewing (compared to projection TV that only look good from one spot in the living room), plasma which is really cool but super expensive, regular TV which is leagues behind HDTV. Oh yea, and the sony is a flatscreen. Makes all the difference when you compare the normal rounded ones to the flatscreen.

If you decide not to go with the HDTV, at least go with a flatscreen. I've really partial to Sony, after my purchase. I've had JVC, RCA, Toshiba, and honestly, they don't compare.

Good luck finding a HDTV for under a grand. I have a 43" widescreen RPTV and love it. Can't wait to see the Bowl in 1080i. It's being broadcast in 720P but my tv upverts it to 1080.

Checkout www.audioreview.com for reviews or www.hometheater.com and visit the forum and post a question there. Very good HT site.

i have a 36" Sony WEGA HDTV. keep in mind that it isn't truly HD unless you buy the seperate HD tuner for an extra $500. thing is, not many stations actually broadcast in HD, but they are pushing it to be the standard by 2005. i doubt you'll find something under $1000, but if you can handle it, or if you have a Best Buy running a financing deal, get a 32" 0r 36" WEGA. gorgeous picture and color definition. i love mine.

Got an awesome deal on the TV, I mentioned it to a co worker that I was going to buy a new HDTV and he said he just got one. He happens to be in the reserves or national guard or something and he said that he got his on a military base becuase there was no tax. so I was like I can go bigger with that 100 bucks Im going to save on tax. So we go in there base exchange and there is a 36 inch sony wega tv on the clearance rack because they where changing out the displays and it was 30% off so I was like fuck yeah and I got it for less than 900 bucks with the stand. SWEET TV espicially on the dvds. Thanks for the advice

I have a 38" HDTV wide screen RCA and it comes with a built in Direct TV reciever AND the the HD BOX all in one with no wires and one remote and my Xbos uses the same RCA remote also. The tv is a tube type and the picture is much brighter than the projection type and you don't spend the extra cash to fine tune the RGB cannons, I do live in a VERRY bright condo with S.W. facing windows and I would not be able to watch TV during the day if not for the picture tube.

just my 2 cents Bye the Bye the thing costs about 2300 bucks.
