Hi, I need some advice. Two cracks have developed at the top corners of my rear door rubber seals. I have tried to plug them with silicone but the cracks sucked in all the silicone. I noticed a Mazda van today with some sort of metallic stoppers at the four corners of its hatch door rubber seals, probably used to solve this type of problem. Any advice on how to fix this or how expensive is it to change the rubber? 97 Disco. Thanks. |

It's called amazing goop, Get the outdoor kind, about 7 bucks a tube. Sears Hardware sells it. Flexible as hell and strong enough to hold a garden hose together. It is also easier to work with than anything else. Cheers, Kennith |

I've had the same two cracks in the same place ever since I bought my disco (about 1 1/2 yrs). It dosent leak or cause any other problems so why bother? FWIW |

I can't recall ever looking at a Discovery that didn't have the same cracks. How LR got away without fixing every one I'll never know. I finally ordered new window seals for the side and rear windows. I am going to have it professionally installed I'll keep you posted on how much it cost. For all 3 of the window gaskets it cost about $150 to but. |
