just wondering if it's really true that they tap into your steering pump and is completely waterproof and doesn't overheat? |

Great idea, 'cept the stock Rover PS pump is too anemic to run the winch to its maximum. With the MileMarker winch, you'll only get about 60 to 70% of it's rated capacity...and line speed. If it wasn't for this limitation (not to mention the cost of swapping over to a GM/Saginaw pump and working out the plumbing issues) I would have gone hydraulic years ago. Hydraulic makes a lot of sense: low(er) weight and a 100% duty cycle. The only obvious drawback is that if the engine drowns, you stuck in the middle of it.... Cheers |
