1,Ok, going down a steep, muddy hill. I got to the bottom of the hill just fine, but once I got to the bottom I couldn't make the turn. The disco slide straight between two trees, taking out both headlights and misc. engine parts. Moral of story, don't go down steep, muddy hills just after it rained.

This is what happens when you slide down a wet hill, covered in mud. I got down the hill just fine, it was the stopping at the end of the hill that I had a problem with.

Now! you have a reason to outfit the front end with your choice of Bumpers that are available, upgrade your headlights, new grille, new wings, and protection on the front on the top of your bonnet provided by a XXL Discoweb.org sticker....

Todd, man, .....

I've seen the "Jumpin' Cholla" around these parts in the desert, but I've never seen the "Jumpin' Tree's" (yet, knock on wood!) ... What happened?

Kim
This too, shall pass ... and build character(?!) ..... Best wishes with the fixes ...

This happened when I went down a hill with ALOT of mud on it. I went down the hill fine, but I couldn't make the turn when I got to the bottom. I slide into two trees. It would be nice to have a new front bumper. Do you think I could get one for the price that a new bumper would cost?

Todd,

I can get you a used front bumper in good condition but why would you want it? After pulling mine off and seeing first hand how "light" they are, I decided any future Disco's would have to have new bumpers. Aedofab and Rovertym bumpers are very reasonable and strong as hell - you have a better chance against the trees that jump in your path.

i would seriously think that after you got the insurance claim that you could beat that price with good aftermarket parts. ARB (for under $600), E code lights ($115 pair) and etc. i mean to fix my rear bumper it was $750 (bumper, 1 end cap, paint) and you can have a nice TJM to your door for under $600.
i had a similar situation you had with two trees.....mine happened with one BIG tree at much higher speeds.
ouch

dude, i feel your pain, two years ago i did the exact same thing, steep hill, too much speed, mud and leaves build up in the knobs, too much brake oh well i was on a dirt bike and i did more to my body than to the bike and the tree made out pretty good, but the pain is all the same!

I bet you could definitely get some aftermarket parts and probably have some insurance money left over.

The rover parts are friggin expensive, even when they are plastic.
