Sometimes. Other times...you'll see. Cool you got a set though. Good luck.

Yeah. Mostly metric, but sometimes (like on the front suspension) it could be standard. Rarely though.

You may well be amazed at the seemingly disjointed distribution of metric versus imperial fasteners on these trucks. Most of the time, I try several wrenches to find the best fit. I was quite surprised to find that most of the engine internals are imperial, while the ancillaries tend toward metric fasteners. Head bolts, rocker arm bolts, driveshaft flange bolts, valve cover bolts are all imperial, whereas those holding the air conditioning compressor, alternator and power steering pump to the block/head are metric with metric threads.

Voila, an excuse to buy more tools! Thank me later.

Would this be because it was originally a Buick engine?

I hate buying Imperial tools. It just seems wrong ... crazy Americans ;-)

At least they aren't Whitworth! Crazy Brits!

Hey - there is one (1) Whitworth fastener that I've found on the Disco!!

Luckily, I do have a set of Whitworth wrenches.

The only whitworth fastener I'm aware of is the threading on the bottom of the differential that allows you to install a diff slider or bolt the steering rod protector. Is there another one?
