Has anyone seem the Axle Breather kit that Atlantic British Ltd is offering anybody know if it is any good? $39.00 doesn't seem that bad. |

Don't bother! Way too expensive. Buy 1/4" air brake lines from a local semi truck shop (you should be able to buy it by the foot), and push-on compression fittings. Just clean the ends of the hoses and pop the push-on fittings on the end of the existing breathers, push a piece of the new air-brake line you just bought on the other end and route the hoses where they won't interfere with anything. This process cost me nothing and only consumed five minutes of my time and I did not have to disturb the fragile fittings on the axle housing. Don't forget to change your diff lubes so you can start with a clean baseline (assuming the reason you want extended breathers is because you have done some fording-the cool factor isn't exactly great for something like extended breathers...) The breather is probably the revised rear axle breather that is put out by LR. LR has a TIB out on this from post mid year 02 trucks. If your truck is still under warranty they will install it for free. |

What is a "TIB", and were can I find a copy to show my dealer? The last time I was in for service, they ignored my request to take care of the axle breather extension. -Barry |
