Does anyone have any experience putting DII parts on a DI. I really like the DII lug nuts so I am going to try to put them on my DI, I have already ordered them. I also like the new heated windshield so i am thinking of buying this too, does anyone know how much it is? I really like the air supension on the RR has anyone put that on the DI? I found a used rear center console (armrest) for a DII and I am going to try to put that in this next weekend. I also bought a new front fairing, left visor, and radiator from an 03 since they look better. The biggest thing is probably the fluids. I found this recked '03 and I would like to buy the oil, coolant, windshield washer fluid, steering fluid, brake fluid, exhaust gasses, and battery and put it in my DI. let me know if anyone hass done this.
Cheers

I havent installed any of that stuff but I would be interested to see if the fluids will work in the DI.

I'd like to know if the exhaust gases are interchangeable. I heard of people using Chevy exhaust gases but I'd like to stick with the LR stuff for originality purposes.

i think the others are having fun at your expense.
i am assuming english is not your 1st language?

the front windscreen from a d2 will not fit a d1 as the d2 glass is 25-30mm taller.

the radiator - also i think is different but you might be able to make it fit -

as far as the armrest - maybe - but i think you will also have trouble there aswell.

using fluids from another car can be more trouble than it is worth.

in your reference to exhaust gases - i think you mean the exhaust system - again the exhausts are tuned to a specific motor - esp diesel vs/ petrol.

you will be breaking your own new ground there.

the lug nut will not fit - the bolt on the d1 is much larger. if you want to swap out parts - look for another d1. especially if you have a 200 series - the 300 seies would be better.

good luck!

All the fluids may have already leaked out of your donor car. You may have to take the soil below the truck and have it seperated to achieve your goal.
But to answer your question, they will leak the same in a D1 or D2 so it should work just fine.

Steve, I think you just over thought this a little too much...and didn't see the obvious.

When I said "exhaust gasses" I was referring to the pipes and chambers

You have to wait two weeks before you post the "It's mine so stop talking about it" message Thom.

Oh and I want the large ass, anyone know how hard it would be to swap it out with my DI's small ass???? (just joking around DII guys :))

Do you have the VIN plate and title for that truck. I know people that pay good money for those :)

These are all good modifications that I have been contemplating on attempting. My present project is changing the air-like fluid in the tires of my D1. I heard the 03' had a better mixture, and looking at the mileage on my D1 it seems about time to change the air in my tires. Has anyone tried this swap from the 03'?

Alfred,
Let me know how that air change works out for your tires. I bet you will get better gas mileage and more horsepower with the new air-like fluid. Let us know I bet you will get great results.

i was hoping to get every other lug on the tires because i like the way my tires handle, but i like the '03 look. i figure at high speeds, the looks and handling will blend together to make one GREAT tire....! does anyone know of a really good rubber cement as well..

Will,
You could take them out of your mama's purple '03 and put them in your LSE. I think it would be an improvement.
I want her rear taillights.

Francis,
If you really meant the exhaust system, then I'm sorry I thought you were joking.

I'm not sure if D2 and D1 are routed the same or have same flanges or even if they are the same diameter. Any muffler shop should be able to fit it though even if it's not an exact match. The more mismatched they are the more cutting and welding would have to be done but it could be worth it.
