I checked as much wiring as I could, checked the relay, battery, fuses, ect. The fuel pump comes on, the relay clicks, and I can hear the solenoid click on the starter as well as feel it, but the truck does not attempt to turn over....just one click is all. I assume I need a starter...so how much will this cost, can i do it myself, and do I have any leverage as far as warranty ( I have a certified L.R. warranty good for 5 years/62000 miles BUTTTTT my car has 62,581 miles FFFFuuuucccckkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!! Help is much appreciated.

Sounds like the starter to me. Mine went out about 3 weeks ago (99 Dll with 32K on it). As far as the warranty....how much does you're dealer like you? Otherwise try Discount Rovers or maybe RoverCanibal. Good luck.

The certified warranty is thru APCO and alot of times they send an adjuster out. The adjuster is required to take pics of the odometer and VIN # on the vehicle. With just a starter they MAY roll the miles back on the R.O. a tad but if they send an adjuster out they will be screwed.
If it is a d2 try to loosen the nut on the battery lead at the starter, wiggle the cable around a little, and retighten. If it starts remove the lock washer and tighten it again. LR has a TIB out on this problem.

you should try with your warranty..I am not sure if or how much it covers on a starter, but they replaced some parts for my sunroofs and under warranty when I was at 62,800 miles with the same warranty you have (62,000)

Stupid question here...are you sure it is not just a dead battery ?

Sounds like a dead/weak battery to me too. May be too weak to even jump.

Try a new battery or unhook the current battery and jump directly from another vehicle to your now disconnected battery cables.

Sounds like just the battery. Mine did the same thing. Replaced battery under warranty.

1)Is it the original battery? I will bet that it's shot. Test the voltage on it before and after charging it.

2)Check ground (-) on the battery and follow it where it bolts into the body. Also, the battery may be dead because of not charging because the ground is not fully connected...Any corrosion on the terminals themselves?

3)If its not the ground or the battery then take a small hammer and pound the shit out of the starter. You know where the starter is and what it looks like right?

If that doesn't work trade your non-CDL, BMW designed, Ford assembled thing in for a sweet Lucas electrics D1 and have plenty of cash left to fix all the oil leaks :)

Problem was + wire to starter not making good connection. Removed lock washer as suggested. Problem solved. $0.00 Many thanks to the gent. with the correct solution, as well as to those who offered their suggestions. Hennessey Land Rover Northpoint in Atlanta Ga. is also to be commended, as they were willing to work with me on the warranty if a starter was in order. Lucky for me and thanks to DiscoWeb, I did not need the services of the $tealer$hip this time around!!!

p.s. The battery was the first thing I checked, and that's funny...I thought I was the only one who banged the shit out of starters that wouldn't start with a hammer!!! Doesn't seem to work on the new stuff.
