I have a 99 DI, last year they made the DI, and I really like the rear bumper on the DII much better. It seems larger and more appealing, I also think that it would bw more functional than the DI bumper. Thanks |

you probably couldn't fit that bumber to your truck, the DI and D2 body measurments are too different, you could try but i dont think it could be done, for the record you can't put the 03 lights on your truck either. |

jim there was a racing team in the uk that fit the front bumper off a d2 onto a d1 - however with the rear - i don't think it will be so easy as the d2 is 6" longer and the bumper wings would need to be trimmed - also if you wheel at all just get a tjm and be done with it. steve |

The D2 wasn't out when I bought the DI. I talked to a mechanic and he said that he could cut the sides of the bumper so that it would fit. We would then just punt new ends on it. I think that it is a go. Jim |

Hey Jim, Not trying to be rude, but the D2 bumper is shit. It is flexible, flimsy, weak, prone to damage, slippery to stand on when wet and worthless. When I stood on mine, it acted as if it was going to come off the truck. Then at the MAR, I found out the hard way that only two cheap ass bolts and a bunch of plastic clips attach it to the vehicle. If you are going through the trouble to get a new bumper for your D1, then go aftermarket and get something made out of metal. Paul and 2 pennys |

I would prefer to have a bumper that is shit, is flexible, flimsy, weak, prone to damage, slippery to stand on when wet and worthless. I have been looking for a bumper than when I stand on it, it will act as if it will come off the truck. Most importantly only two cheap ass bolts and a bunch of plastic clips must attach it to the vehicle, So I think that the D2 bumper will work! |

Jim, FWIW, I can't figure out why exactly you posted to tell us all that you were getting a new rear bumper. BFD. If it was to get advice, then you certainly didn't take it- Paul was letting you know the qualities of a D2 bumper that he observed and you shot back with a completely nonsensical, ridiculously stupid response. Enjoy your bumper. Thanks for wasting our time. |

Hey..what about this. When I fitted my tow hitch (Haymen Reece) I took off the rear bar of my DII. Indeed it is held on with 2 bolts and some easy to come off clips. Now that I have my hitch for protection it does not matter - but before that if you bottomed out the arse, the thing could pivot upwards it seemed to me, because the bolts were at the top of the bar; that is it would not rip clean off - or get you hung up!. I thought that was clever. Anyway, I have stood on mine many times without any flex at all - I am only 225 pounds though; maybee you guys are heavier, or jump around a lot I dont know! Cheers Scott-OZ |
