Hello everyone. Here's the problem. At lunch the radio worked fine and when I came back out after work I have no tunes!! Now the radio is on and lit up, looks normal, and I can hear some very faint recpetion from the subwoofers but nothing from the 4 speakers and again very faint sound from the subs. The fuse on the radio is fine (as I removed it and had to reprogram the radio) as is the fuse on the main fuse panel. Could the factory amp be the problem? Does the amp run the 4 channels or just the subs? And where is the amp? I just purchased the vehicle ('95 D1 V8i) a few weeks ago and have been reading this site almost every night trying to learn more about it. Any help you could provide would be outstanding! Thanks. |

the amp is in the rear door dehind the subs. and I am pretty sure that the amp does not power the other speakers just the subs. right now my amp is removed and the speakers work just fine |

Brian, The main amp is behind the passenger's side kickpanel. You can't miss it as it's a small, amp-looking box with a monstrous connector with 20 wires coming out of it. Try wiggling the wire |

Also - main amp behind kick panel has it's own fuse (on the amp itself) - check that! Bill |

Thanks guys I appreciate your help. I took off the kick panel and there was a wire going to the underside of the pass. seat. It was pinched by the sill plate. spliced it back together and voila, sweet music.... (o.k. so it was christina aguillera but better than nothin right?) |

Who Cares about music? Take the radio out becuase it doesn't help you with off-roading and that is the only thing that the discovery was designed for. Take the radio out and install the tow strap or an extra shovel! |

Brian, When you said "kick panel", I would not reccomend kicking any of your panels. Most of the panels, are not kick resistant. This technique will also not help your music much, unless you like the sound of your panels breaking. |
