Help!!! key stuck in ignition

Author Message   kevin Posted on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 - 02:10 pm:    got a 96 disco with 86k on the clock and the key is stuck in the ignition and it won't come out,made sure it is in park and transfer case is in gear, the only way it will come out is if I pull#12 fuse then it will release, also noticed just before trying to get the key out, the left directional would stay on all the time without flashing and the lever in the center position even when the key was turned off also at about the same time I could smell a burnt smell,like wires or a switch in or around the steering column any help would be great   trevor griffiths (Trevorgriffiths) Posted on Wednesday, January 29, 2003 - 04:25 pm:    There is a shift interlock relay that is probably faulty- it's not accepting the fact that you are in park and the engine is off.   kevin Posted on Friday, January 31, 2003 - 06:40 am:    hey trevor i replaced both relays found in the right side kick panel and checked the fuse inthe column for the key switch and it still won't come out unless #12 fuse is removed, any other help would be great.
