Well I just found out the reason why we all have oil leaks with Rovers.
Simply "A Male dog cocks his leg and urinates to mark his territory". Rovers do the same, we are just marking our territory!LOL

Yes that is correct. My Rover can tell if your Rover has passed this way by carefully examining the ground.

Yeah, Harley-Davidsons have the same issue.

Gee, I'm afraid what to say here. After replacing the heads on my truck, it has nearly stopped leaking completely! As soon as the weather rises above zero Fahrenheit, I'll replace the front seal, and that seep will be history and the mounts for the Saginaw steering box conversion have been begun! I spoke with a friend of mine the other day and he is putting a Ford steering box on a '94 Disco.

In some cases, it requires new gaskets and in others, ripping the junk out and replacing with domestic. With patience, these trucks can be made to stop leaking. Where's Slade when you need him?

Peace,
Paul

Oh yeah? Some guy(!) on the POR BBS said to ignore anybody named Jason... Everybody knows Mike's driveway should stay clean, what with his penchant for blowing up Rover engines and replacing them with SBCs!

Is Lucas dead yet?

Peace,
Paul

I have always looked at it much the same way we look at CH-46 Helicoptors in the Marine Corps, if they aren't leaking some fluid its b/c they don't have any left.

Lester:
The guy I was apprenticed to for my A&P was a professional engineer (he invented the cup with the pin used to look for water in fuel of high-wing airplanes-when he was 17). It didn't matter what the vehicle was, if he and I got done working on it and it leaked, it got torn down again (guess who got to do this part?) and made to stop leaking. I got a call Monday from a guy for whom I rebuilt an engine back in '82. He called to tell me he had passed 100K with it and it still doesn't leak! It did have a minor leak right after I got done with it, but it was easy to fix. I'm not that good!
