I have had a leak in my sunroof since I bought the Rover (2 months ago). The leak was small and sometimes it didn't leak at all. However, yesterday it leaked ALOT. As I looked around the rear sunroof on the inside I didn't see any water coming in the actual sunroof, but it was around the right side of the roof. I then opened up the roof, and looked inside of it from the top, and there wasn't any water inside the channel, nor any evidence of it leaking in from the gasket. As I was climbing down from the top, I noticed that the hard black plastic frame was sticking up about a quarter of an inch in the rear. I then dropped the headliner, and tightened the bolts securing the actual sunrrof into the body. The upper frame snugged down back to the body. Hopefully this may help someone if their sunroof leaks, but they don't know where it is coming from, since the water isn't coming from the gasket. My question is what caused the frame to become loose? Brian |

A faulty screw caused the frame to loosen and the wind from driving at high speeds caused the framee to twist worsening the problem. |

It doesn't matter why it leaked just cover the hole with some welded sheet metal and be done with it. The sunroof doesn't help you off road anyway it's stupid! The discovery is designed only for off-roading not for comfort! |

I actually like my sun roof for offroading, I open it and use the roof rack cross bar as an "oh shit handle" |

Yeah, I like to have my sun roof open too. Sometimes I just feel the need to get a good workout. I just reach out of my sunroof and do a few pull-ups, using my crossbar. |

Be careful not to over tighten the sunfoof frame. When overtightened the frame will warp and the only way to repair that is with a new cassette assm or lots of silicone. I have seen may water leaks from this. |

Oliver, I'm not trying to overtighten my frame, thats not any of your business anyway. I'm just trying to stay fit |

Fuck off!! I was just stating that the frame can be over tightened and result in a leak down the road. This was projected at the whole audience, not just at you. During operation pride one of the repairs was different sunroof guide rails for jamming. I saw many sunroofs that were overtightened and months later after sitting in the sun they warped, esp black vehicles. I was just stating this before everyone with a water leak attempted to make the bolts at tight as they could. The cassettes are not cheap, even from a junkyard. I was going to suggest that you look at the outer edge of the sunroof and see if it is wavy. I'm glad i didn't Hope it leaks again asshole. |

I just bought a cassette tape today for $2.00 I would say that is pretty and it was brand new not from a junk yard! |
