Where would you mount a fire extinguisher on a 95 Disco? I currently have it lying loose under my passenger seat. But would like to have a permanent mount point somewhere which is easily accessible at the same time. Any and all suggestions gladly appreciated. Sanu. |

My '97 D1 sports one mounted to the front face of the passenger seat box. Little plastic cover pops out and I mounted the plastic extinguisher holder to it. Stays within easy reach of driver and passenger, but not in either's way. A second one is fastened to the metal mesh dog guard in the back. Ron Ward |

mine is securly fastned under my seat. I went to a military surplus store and they had the hardware to securly hold the exstinguisher in place for humvees. But I don't know how easy it would be to find. You could always do it fast and the furios style with it mounted just above the tweeter. and on the other side one of those hundred dollar tachs I'm sure your local speedzone could help you out. |

I took a couple of expanding drywall anchors (the plastic kind) and screwed a small extinguiser bracket to the driver's side rear door post. The anchors will keep the screws in the plastic cover over the post. I've had to retighten it once or twice, but it's been there several years, no problem. |

I have mine mounted behind the center console. Any belted passenger in the vehicle can reach it.

On the back door. Mounts to the metal 'crossmembers' behind the vinyl coated panel. Used four self tapping bolts. No problems and nowhere close to the engine (which is a negative as well, I suppose). My eventual goal is lexan instead of the vinyl... JR |

Try to find a shop that specializes in street car racing (you know the little go-cart sounding civics with a $20K whale tail on the back). They have all sorts of extinguishers and mounting options. After you found what you need, leave by driving over all the shitty little cars. |

I just had a sprinkler system installed on mine. I have one sprinkler just above the rear passengers (in case someone accidentally drops a cigarette or something). I also have one for the front passengers for the same reason, but also if any of the electrical system (guages, radio, switches) catch on fire. The other sprinkler is mounted under the hood for obvious reasons. When I had my system installed, the shop said to use windshield washer fluid-for its non-flammability characteristics. |

" what type of extinguisher did you all get. " Be sure to get an A:B:C extinguisher. You're you're likely to run into electrical, gas/oil, and brush fires so be ready for all 3. I carry a 3-A:10-B:C 5 lb dry chemical extinguisher. Halon is nice but a bit of overkill. |
