I remember that. Too bad the "humble" has been lost somewhere along the way.

But then, that's not unusual for campaign slogans. Kinda like bumber stickers, most are pretty simplistic for complicated subjects.

Except for mine of course ;-)

Humility after 9/11? Not a chance. I say wipe the place clean and plant a giant Texaco sign in the ground. But that's just my $0.02 worth.

i believe the meaning of what GW intended was not clearly being understood, he meant, "Speak softly, and carry a big stick". in my previous work place i oftened used to tell the scumbags that i let off with a warning, "don't let my kindness be confused for weakness".

Tom, it's too bad the terrorists attacked the WTC. The time for humble has passed, the time for response is here. In the past, because we are often viewed as the bully, we have laid down and let 3rd world nations use us and abuse us. Its time for that to end. In one of your other threads you talked about how much you are tired of this country lying to you, and doing dishonest things.....all I have to say is that there are not 5 countries in the world that combined give as much aid to the underdeveloped starving nations as the USA does. I'm proud of this country. Do I want a war? NO! Do I think the time has come? Reluctantly yes, I do. And we need to do it right this time. But rather than kill all the terrorists, I think we should transport them all to France and Germany and then stand back and laugh when they ask for help!

Wow, Tom,

You sure do have a lot of disdain for this country. I have seen post after post of yours that is obviously leaning toward the "USA is bad and has done bad things and will continue to do bad things and deserves what it gets and we should just lie down and take it" point of view. Perhaps that is not your point of view, but it sure is leaning directly toward it.

THAT, my friend, is just ONE of the beauties of America. But I have to know....what is it about this country or the current administration, for that matter that you have such deep seeded disdain for? Enquiring minds want to know.
