It seems that everyone I come in contact with who owns or owned a RR with air suspension had problems with this system. Has anyone not had air suspension problem if so are there certain years which are more prone or less to develop this major headache. Thanks in advance. |

My air suspension has always and will always give me trouble. As soon as the warranty is up, im switching to coil springs. |

The compressor on my 2003 has been replaced and the part is on national backorder so there is a 2003 problem. |

"Yes the only year that hasn't had any reported problems is the MKIII Range Rover. (thats the 2003 RR)- " actually that ones guilty also.. the proto 03s we ran in May were so bad, that after an hour of trail riding if they were put in low setting, they would NOT come back up. It had to do with the placement of the compressor in the rear under the cargo floor. It was very close to the exhaust routing, and that heated the compressor to the point of failure. At the time, everyone was confident that the issue would be resolved before public release, but apparently that might not have been the case. |

I stand corrected, Thanks for the update on the MKIII- So the verdict is in- The only thing that air suspensions are good on are L.A (hitin' switches) Lowriders, City Buses, and -your vote here- Even the air suspensions on the Lincoln Contenintals, and Town Cars out last the E.A.S on the Range Rovers- My neighbors air suspension on his Mark VIII has lasted since 1990- 94Rover |

Another problem in the '03 is when the water leaks in. The water runs into the spare tire well which houses the compressor. The compressor then turns into a blige pump and you get a ELS (Electronic Liquid Suspension). It will pump the springs and the rest of the system full. LR has had water leak problems with MANY of these trucks and that is why compressors are on backorder. They just came out with a bulletin on sealing body seams. |

Does anyone out there have a 1995 - 1998 RR with a converted suspension ( from air to regular coil setup). If so how is the ride and handling compared to the factory setup ? |

107K miles and no problems on 93 RRC. All of the air springs show some dry rot, but seems like an adequate useful life to me. |

Don't know if everyone knows of this air spring source. They are $89 each with a lifetime warranty. http://www.arnottindustries.com/ - Mark |

I like the ELS part...why not just drill a hole in the wheel well as a drain, which would be too easy. The Arnott Industries products are good. Just bought some for a customers lincoln rear susp. but the rover bags are on backorder too because they are supplying them to rover as part of a warranty recall (imagine that). |

I was about to recomend the Arnott Industries Rvoer bagass but I see I've been beaten to the punch. We have a '95 LWB and only the right rear seems to have a leak with 93,000 miles on it. When I've installed my Arnott bags I'll followup here with a report. I'm told they take about 20mins per corner. |

I did the conversion on my 95, but I just decided to go to HD springs right away. It's definately a stiffer ride but now the vehicle feels so much tighter and more durable. Best mod I ever did to that beast. Trust me, just convert over to springs and save the hassles that WILL come down the road later. If it's not the bags, it'll be the compressor, or a leak in one of the gazillion fittings, or a crack in a hose in some godforsaken place that's impossible to get at. Switch to springs and forget about it. |
